As part of International Week at Hochschule Mittweida, the Studienkolleg hosted a vibrant and heartwarming Food Festival on June 2nd, 2025, at Weltecho – a true celebration of cultures, flavors, and community.
Our students took the lead, preparing traditional dishes from their home countries: Indonesia, Vietnam, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Mongolia, Russia, India, Venezuela, Peru, China, Lebanon, and Germany. Every dish was homemade with love and pride, turning the event into a rich culinary journey around the globe.
Over 200 guests attended, including the Rector and Chancellor of Hochschule Mittweida, members of the Cosmo Club, and many international visitors from partner universities. As we savored the food, we enjoyed the smooth sounds of the jazz band Jeeney and Friends and soulful vocal performances by Ukrainian singers Dasha Litvinova and Daryna, filling the room with warmth and melody.
The evening also featured a colorful array of cultural performances: a powerful fusion dance blending elements from Mongolia, Russia, and Kazakhstan; expressive musical pieces on electric piano and guitar; vibrant Indian singing and high-energy dance; and to close the night, a joyful and energetic Arabic Dabke that brought everyone together in celebration.
It was truly an evening to remember – full of color, connection, and the spirit of international friendship, made possible by the creativity, passion, and teamwork of our wonderful students.
